SPE Central Iraq Section Leadership Team was honoured to meet with H.E. the Minister of Oil, Eng. Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, in the presence of Dr. Kareem Al-Korji, Chair of the SPE Central Iraq Section; Mr. BARAA ZUBAIDI, Vice Chair of the SPE Central Iraq Section; the Iraqi Petroleum Expert Dr. Amir Alwazzan; and Mr. Ali Jassim Hammood, Director of the Petroleum Research and Development Center (PRDC).
During the meeting, we presented the vision and strategic objectives for the second edition of the IPIW — Iraq’s Petroleum Industry Workshop (IPIW2027), which will be organised by our section, supported by the Ministry of Oil. We also highlighted the achievements and positive impact of the inaugural workshop, which brought together international experts, industry leaders, researchers, and professionals from across the oil and gas sector.
SPE Central Iraq Section sincerely appreciates the Minister’s support and his commitment to strengthening technical collaboration, advancing research and innovation, and reinforcing Iraq’s position as a regional hub for scientific and technical dialogue in the energy sector.
